Directions:

Eleanor Roosevelt National Historic Site (Val-Kill) is located in the town of Hyde Park, NY, approximately 5 miles north of Poughkeepsie along Route 9G, midway between New York City and Albany, about a 1.5 hour drive from either direction. Located on the east bank of the Hudson River, the park is easily reached by either the Taconic State Parkway or Route 9, and the New York State Thruway west of the Hudson River.

Val-Kill Cottage Tours

Eleanor Roosevelt's Val-Kill Cottage is open seasonally. The grounds, trails and gardens are open every day except Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.

Exceptions:

November 2024 - December 2024 Weekends Only (November 9, 2024 - December 28, 2024)

Winter Closure January 2025 - May 2025 (December 29, 2024 - May 31, 2025)

Holiday Closure (January 1, 2025 - January 1, 2025)

Park and Val-Kill Cottage tours vary by season. The grounds are open daily, except for New Years Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
